Puppy Life Skills Workshop at The Mill of Whiteford

Did you recently get a puppy and aren’t sure where to start training, or have a younger dog that’s starting to develop some bad habits? Just want to get some ideas on how to cultivate a strong bond with your young dog? Then this class is for you! Clare Owings, of K9 College Training, will be leading a Puppy Life Skills Workshop on May 5th from 1-3pm at The Mill of Whiteford. The class will cover concept training through games to improve your dog’s focus and confidence. She’ll also demonstrate how these games and more can be incorporated that into all training in your dog’s life.

Clare Owings has been showing and raising dogs for over 30 years and has gone through numerous training clinics herself. She is a professional dog behavioral consultant, and regularly competes with her Australian shepherds in Rally Trials. She also has experience competing in herding, agility, and obedience trials. She really enjoys helping owners build a strong bond with their dogs by providing a fun way for them to learn and interact with each other.

We have limited space for this class. With 6-9 participants, dogs and their owners get quality one-on-one time. Dogs must be between 8 weeks and 1 year old to participate. The class will be $60, and registration and payment are required prior to the class. Puppies must be up to date on vaccines. There is an information sheet to help tailor training to you and your dog. Prior to the class, dogs should only be fed ½ their usual breakfast in the morning as they will be given a lot of treats and kibble during the class!
